She studied art and creative writing and graduated from Portland State University, and has an interest in Children’s books and narrative illustration. Garret's initial and primary creative outlets are live concert visuals and video art, blending analog liquid light shows with custom-coded digital art and video collage through analog video hardware. But he's also broadened his expression from there into generative code art, design, and illustration. He performs live concert visuals under the moniker Coast Range Lights, and teams up with his partner Jessi Buck to run the online Shrug Studio shop.
